Teacher Student Relationship: Double Standard?

Question

Do you think there's a double standard when it comes to student/teacher relationships be it male or female? 
I've come across countless of these incidents where a teacher had gotten caught doing things with their students. I've noticed that when a female teacher does it, she's almost praised and there's comments like "I wish I had a teacher like that when I was in school" but if a male teacher is caught, it's a completely different story. So my question is, do you think there's a double standard involved? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

Yes there’s a double standard in society because women still aren’t viewed as predators like men are. An adult going after a student is predatory behaviour, especially when the child is a minor that’s just paedophilia imo. 
However, workplace wise, I’ve noticed that Male teachers get away with it more than female ones.

There's a whole south park episode just on this topic. I think it's pretty widely regarded that a double standard does exist in society but I think (hope?) legally the same standards apply.

For sure there is a double standard. This is generally what i see..... “male sleeps with female teacher” Usually responses are congratulating him and wishing they had teachers like that....... “male sleeps with female student” The guy is called a paedophile and people want his dick cut off. You either are against student-teacher relationships all together or you or not.

Yup. it only further proves that boys and men who are raped and abused aren't taken seriously. 
There is a lot more that could be done on all fronts, for anyone of any gender. We do not provide victims of these relationships with proper justice.

I think it's tge trend that most female offenders tend to be physically attractive, were as majority male offenders tend to be physically unattractive. While both are gross and these people should be stabbed repeatedly for touching children, people like seeing it as well at least this teacher was hot, versus eww legitimate gremlin looking

I think there IS a double standard but there really shouldn't be. No matter who you are, if you're a teacher and you sleep with a student, you're disgusting.

My friend (female) was pursued by our female teacher, and my friend was banned from school! The teacher didn’t even get in trouble for misconduct, it was all blamed on my friend. Somehow my friend who was 16 was “completely at fault” for enticing the teacher even though the teacher was the one having her stay late after class, asking her to come in early, arranging way too much alone time. So whether it is a male or female student, schools tend to pretend not to see or blame a female teacher for sexual harassment/ pursuant of minors.

There is a double standard. There shouldn’t be. You shouldn’t date/have sex/ etc with anyone who you’re in charge of (whether you’re a teacher, coach, boss, etc).

Absolutely! Not when I was in school, but I just found out a teacher (female) was dating a student. Teacher was married too to make it worse. She wasn't charged, wasn't even fired.
