Promposal advice

So I have had this crush on this really nice guy since the beginning of school and now we’re a few week away from graduation and prom is around the corner. I want to ask him but I’m kind of terrified. We talk so it’s not like I’m asking a stranger but I’m so scared. All my friends said I should just go for it but I’m so nervous. Any advice?
