Does one hold more weight than the other?
Okay this could be all over the place so please bare with me!
So I am in marketing full time, I work from 7/8-4pm meaning I am home first (usually). My SO is a builder full time, working from 8-7pm (usually a lot later). Because I get home first I do usually clean up if it hasn’t already been done. Now, his job is hugely taxing on his body as it should be but I would say that mine is mentally draining due to solving large issues, working with a lot of data and staring at a screen all day.
Many of my friends have said that because I get home at 4 I should do the cooking, cleaning and all of that for my SO’s arrival. I’m like woah, so because he’s a builder and I get home early I have to do everything? I was shocked.
So the question is:
“Does one profession hold more weight than the other?”
To further explain that, if you work in a taxing job but your partner doesn’t do you believe you are entitled to no house work, no cooking.
Or do you believe they are all equal therefore the chores and cooking should be too?
