Am I going to have a big baby?

Question

Going by my lmp and conception date im 12w5d. (With exact measurements at my 10 wk ultrasound) I had an ultrasound on Thursday and my midwife told me that baby is measuring 4 days bigger. My question is, will the baby continue to grow ahead of my dates or did it just have a little growth spurt? My other 2 sons measured exactly where they should have at every ultrasound.

It’s too early to decide! Babies go through growth spurts too so just because he was 4 days ahead the day of your scan doesn’t mean he’s going to continue growing at that rate. My babe was measuring 3 days ahead too but the dr said they don’t change due dates this early for that exact reason!

With my son at the anatomy scan he was measuring bigger so they upped my due date by a week. After that, everytime the OB measured my stomach he said I was measuring a week behind. My baby came out at 7 pounds 6 ounces.

Depends on the tech at times. Someone’s measurements could be off .

At this stage baby grows like crazy, baby will probably slow down once you’re in the second trimester. I swore I was going to have a big baby but my son was 6 pounds at birth at full term! You never know!
