i bought a lot of newborn clothes from carters for my baby which is due in July. should i wash the clothes or not because they are new, what do you ladies normally do???

Definitely wash, but maybe not everything yet. If they are sized newborn, baby might be born big and not ever fit them, or might outgrow quickly. I’d leave some tags on just in case you need to return or exchange.

Definitely wash everything before baby wears it. Most clothes are made in 3rd world country factories that I'm sure aren't very sterile. Then all the workers and shoppers touch them. Gross.
On a practical note, those little onesies shrink. So go ahead and wash and dry so you'll see what size it really ends up or baby will wear it once, it'll shrink and then not fit.

wash everything not just clothes! I've wiped down and washed everything for the baby. new does not mean clean. there are rats in warehouses that climb over everything, people in stores that touch and sneeze stuff, pretty much everything get a dropped on the store floor at least once. Really it's not just baby stuff that should be cleaned first before wearing. I wash my own too because you never know what chemical has been sprayed on anything.

I always wash them.  Babies have sensitive skin & can you imagine how many hands have touched each piece of clothing?
