Where is the line between cultural appropriation/ cultural appreciation?

Yes, it’s not okay and something we as white people should be cognizant of and make an effort to stop.

It’s upsetting, you try being told what is unattractive on you is suddenly attractive when white girls do it and see how you feel 🤷🏾‍♀️

It upsets me. I wouldn’t say I’m offended but I think it’s sad that people are ridiculed and discriminated against for doing one thing and then someone else does it and it becomes a trend.

you see a lot of it in new-age type spirituality. people trying to be ~very spiritual and talking about their chakras, and karma, and their spirit animals, and saging. 🤮

I’m white, a majority, so I’m not offended because you can’t appropriate a majority. I am, however, offended by he assumption that people make when you really are appreciating, not appropriating. For example, our western idea and practice of yoga is most often appropriated - practiced just to stretch rather than appreciating the spiritual practice. But assuming that nobody is involved in the spiritual side is what is offensive, since many people truly are appreciating the history, purpose, and spirituality of it.

Of course it's offending,  but I try not to let it get to me.  It's getting ridiculous though. For instance,  when I worked at a Guyanese restaurant, myself being Trinidadian,  co- workers from all different islands,  so several accents and cultures at play in one place.  Because of the music we played and the foods and drinks we served,  we generally served patrons from the Caribbean as well. However,  we had a few caucasians and hispanics who frequented with their Caribbean friends. 
Anyway,  there were two individuals,  one Hispanic,  one caucasian,  who felt that dressing up in certain garments and speaking with a knock off Caribbean accent was cool. It was not! Being a west Indian,  growing up with rich culture,  it was a slap in the face to watch those two mock us, with a horrible interpretation of my accent and Bob Marley clothing and matted hair. One of them even went by a different name while he was there. Smh

Yes. It’s offensive. 
It’s admittedly a fine line though. It’s more of a know it when you see it thing than a hard line in the sand. 
For myself I try not to use anything religious or sacred outside of its proper context, and listen to people from said culture if I’m unsure.
