How much of a jerk would I be?
My hospital has a policy where you can only have five visitors in labor and delivery with you while you’re laboring. It’s very strict...the names are put on the list by me (the mother) ahead of time and it cannot be altered once it’s submitted. They check to make sure the visitor’s name is on the list and give you an armband to wear.
How much of a jerk would I be if I didn’t include his family on that list? His family is very dysfunctional, and makes no effort to contact me via phone or text message unless they can’t reach my husband. And we’ve been married nearly six years. I really don’t think they’ll go up to the hospital while I’m in labor—it’s an hour and fifteen minute drive one way for them to our hospital—but I really only want my mom, sister, husband, and Dad on the list. Am I wrong for this?
