If you've considered fertility treatments, but haven't gotten them - why?

If you're having fertility difficulties, and have considered treatment, what is the biggest factor that keeps you from pursuing treatment?

Does it irritate anyone else that it is cheaper to abort a baby than to create on?

It’s definitely the cost. I will be 39 this year and my window to have children is almost gone. It’s pretty much now or never. If I could afford IVF or if my insurance would cover even some of it, I would be at the clinic right now.

My mental, emotional health and finances. I have to come off all of my medications in order to go through the fertility treatment process.

I've done 5 IUIs and ivf is suppose to be next step. no fertility coverage so ivf is not possible now. i would do ivf in a heartbeat. dh would rather go adoption route which is also very costly.

My fiancé and I had trouble conceiving for about 2 and a half years and we wanted to do some sort of fertility treatment but stayed away because of the cost. It’s sad because so many women that deserve children have a hard time getting pregnant and those treatments may help but the cost is insane!

After over a year of trying I told my doctor, for testing to be covered by insurance she had to refer me to a fertility doctor. I told her we tried for over a year and never gotten a BFP, I was 22 at the time and we were both pretty healthy... all she said was "try another year but use OPKs. I told her timing wasn't really an issue since we BDed every day or everyother day. We ended up moving a few months later and decided to just try naturally again because we didn't know how it all worked going from a military doctor to a civilian doctor and insurance "rules". Eventually, I told my new doctor. 2 days later I got a call for my first fertility appointment. I believed if the first doctor would have listened to us when I told her I wouldnt have spent 2 years depressed when AF came.

My sister wants a baby so bad, but the clinic near us charges $11000 plus drugs. I fortunately have insurance coverage so we ended up paying $2000 drugs included for IVF. I wish so bad I could use my insurance for her too.

We decided long before we started trying that if it doesn’t happen naturally for us, we will adopt💞 instead of doing fertility treatments. (If we do get pregnant we likely will still adopt one day)

I wanted to vote but there isn’t just one reason why!  The first is we can’t help but feel like we should continue to try naturally for a few months(10 cycles in).  Second is the cost. We’re trying to save to build a house so dropping 15k for IVF is not in the cards right now.  Third, after many tests, things keep changing so we’re not sure which way to go!
