i was 11 days late for my period, but I’m not pregnant

My period cycle has always been regular, but unique. Compared to the norm of 28 day cycle, I generally find myself cycling on a 32 day pattern. Listen, before you realize that your body has its own natural rhythm, you freak out a little bit every month questioning if you might be pregnant or not. Obviously, it took me a little time to understand that it was just my natural cycle and the 28 day norm i was accustom to was thanks to the pill.

So now i’m off the pill, I had been on it for ten years and i was starting to have issues with my hormones, getting a years infection at least once a month. Honestly, my doctor was so useless when it came to help me because she was in denial the pill could play such games with your body. As soon as i stopped taking the pill, within a few months, boom. No more infections. (These infections didn’t stop immediately, it seriously took a few months - I’m talking 6 to 7 months to regulate- holy shit)

Anyways! so my BF and I use condoms and clearly that is advisable as a contraception compadres to the pill out game. However this past month we didn’t utilize any, purely relying on his pull out game. But, if you’re in the shoes look at the statistics, they’re you’re best friend!

1. measure you’re bbt every morning ! I have this amazing little bbt thermometer branded easy@home, and it tests your bbt orally! despite what you might think, yes you can test your bbt orally. As long as it’s within the devices capabilities.

2. second, tract the days you make love and track your cycle. If you are NOT tracking your cycle, well you’re a damn fool, but judging by the fact you’re on GLow i’m assuming you are. Glow has a pretty good ovulation tracking system, but the bbt will be far more accurate and let you know when you’re at your most fertile.

3. Plain and simple, it takes a lot of semen, ejaculated Deep in your vagina to get pregnant. The number of women who get pregnant from ‘PreCum’ is really ridiculously low to the point where i don’t think it’s the Pre Cum that got them pregnant. Vaginas are acidic, semen, especially in small numbers do not survive in the vaginas canal. But, if your man ejaculates inside you, get a plan B. If he ejaculates on your thigh, you’re probably fine. if his semen touch your labia, you’re probably fine. If he is 7” deep inside you, you’re probably not fine... but you might be okay. that depends on your fertility levels.

4. have you gotten your fertility tested? It’s true what they say, the younger you are the more fertile you are. 15 year old girls in the back seat of a car are more likely to fret pregnant easily than a 27 year old... so Check before you stress.

5. Look at what happened to you in the past month? Did you get sick? Are you stressed? have you lost weight? are you exercising more? did you take any prescription antibiotics? All these can play a factor on your cycle and it’s regularity.

6. STRESS IS THE WORST. Stop stressing.

7. Take a test every 5 days if you miss your period. seriously, if one says negative, and in 5 days it says negative... it’s probably not a false reading. Use a reputable branded test - Clear Blue or First Response.

8. See your doctor or a specialist and get a blood test. but there is not reason to freak out prior to taking these steps and hearing from results that You Are Pregnant. Jumping to conclusions on your own will cause useless levels of stress and make you’re period late.

honestly I was 11 days late. I was obviously really worried at this point what was going on... but in the past month I had had a eat and throat infection, i was on Antibiotics, i had had sex twice during that time and not during my ovulation. My period was super late to the factors pre-discussed above. Be smart ladies. Obviously using proper contraception is best, but the odds are on your side most of the time as long as you’re smart about it.

PS. Masturbation can help stimulate your cycle to start due to the contractions it causes. If you’re late, self-love daily!
