I thought I'd share what I wrote a while back

Rape

Is a cold hollow thing, someone ripping the rug out from under you and leaving you bare, no excitement, just fear.

Rape is when you’re alone in the dark wanting nothing to hurt you, but it comes and eats you slowly and laughs while it does it. Or trusting someone, only to find they tore you apart from the inside out.

It’s sudden, a surprise most of the time, you never truly asked for it, and feel nothing but blank and broken by the end of it.

Everything is still and you’re deaf, numb to the point of paralysis. Your eyes are glue, stuck to a point on the wall.

Eventually the tingling sets in and your finger twitches, and you move again, the feeling of static all over your body. (Your body, which doesn’t feel quite real.) But you move (as though underwater), and carry on.

You might’ve thought about it at one point, but you never realized it such as this, not until it was too late.
