First appointment with fertility specialist

We had our first appointment with the fertility specialist today and I really wish it had gone better than it did. He followed up with all the tests that I have done so far and also looked at the records I gave him from my OB. Basically without saying it, he said that my OBs treatment of my fertility issues made no sense and that is why I haven't gotten pregnant. He said the Clomid is not something most doctors use anymore and in his opinion will just make my matters worse.

The troubling part of all of this is that after seeing that my HSG showed that I have adhesions on my left tube, he says usually if there is an issue on one side there will be an issue with the other side. He did some cultures today which came clear and also did a thorough ultrasound. He saw I still have a paraovarian cyst on my right side, and by what he can see he thinks I have adhesions on my right side too. Which makes so much sense to me.

I am on CD7 and he can see that I have some fluid being retained in my uterus, which he seemed concerned about so he wants me to repeat this ultrasound on CD7 again to see if it happens again.

So on top of this damn UTI and trying to figure it out, now we are looking having to get laparoscopic surgery to rule out endometriosis and clearing out everything, maybe possibly dilate my cervix. While I feel better that now we will get the treatment we need and aren't just "putting a bandaid" on the problem, I am still scared and feeling a little defeated because it's now obvious that this won't happen for us naturally and that we definitely need extra help. Although this all means that I will be out of the TTC journey for the next two or three months, I am hopeful that I will be pregnant by the end of the year.
