Dates! (The labor helping fruit)
Someone recently told me to start eating dates to “ripen” my cervix, and I was like, ok, sure, another one of those “it can’t hurt, but it probably doesn’t make a difference” strategies...
Actually science says it does! I read some scholarly articles about it, and eating dates actually helps you dilate faster and have a shorter labor!!! I was surprised I hadn’t heard about this before considering it is evidence based, while I hear about all these wives tales all the time!!
So for all you ladies looking for a real way to prepare for labor- eat dates!
