Dads at the baby shower??

I went to a baby shower today and mentioned to my hubby how I saw my cousin's husband as he was leaving when I got there and we chatted a bit. Not thinking much of it pretty normal for the guy not to stay! My husband was blown away. He absolutely doesn't understand why the dad wouldn't stay. It's their baby too I want to be part of everything and thank everyone. He went on and on. We did have a non traditional shower for our first that was a co-ed cookout. so now I'm curious others thoughts and feelings.

I never understood the women-only baby shower; I don’t have many female friends. Everyone should celebrate the new addition. We’re just doing a mid-afternoon shower with food; everyone is welcome and no games. If a mom only wants women at her shower, that’s her wish, though.

We had a co Ed bbq. My husband even invited all his friends from work and their wives. Kids were also welcomed :)

If it's a ladies only shower, it would be awkward to have dad be the only man in my opinion. Stopping by is fine, but hanging out with the ladies is a little weird. Co-ed showers, of course he should be there.

We had to limit our shower invites to mostly women because we both have large families, but I told my SO from the beginning that I was not doing the shower alone. He is 50% of the reason why we are even having the shower. We’re also inviting our dads and grandfathers.

I am having a female only shower, but my husband will be there. He knows that I have a hard time being center of attention, and wants to stay to support me. We are also traveling 9 hours for my shower so he wouldn’t really have anywhere to go during it anyway.

My baby shower was even themed because of the dads favorite movies (Star Wars lol) it was definitely a both of us thing and we both sat up there and opened the presents and both sides of the family were there, guys and girls, I could never see it without the father attending but I guess I’ve never thought of t a different way.

My husband was at the showers. We did two coed. Had two big families. One was his family and his friends. The other was my family and friends. Worked out great for us.

My husband came because I can't stand his mom. She insisted on throwing the shower. It was terrible. She didn't invite any of my side until a few days prior. No one could make it. I was so angry. If he wasn't there I either would have jumped out the window in an attempt to escape or pushed her down the stairs.
