I am a FTM and I have done ALL the reading. I thought for sure I was on track and know what I was looking for. So yesterday I went in to the hospital at 37 weeks thinking I was in active labor. My water had not broke but my contractions were and still are every four minutes. They are painful and I was crying. So they keep me from 6pm to 12pm. I’m still closed??? How can this be when I’m contracting every four minutes?? Please someone?!

It happens..with my last I was contracting every minute, they were on top of each other, and it didn't change my cervix at all.

How long are they lasting? you want them to be lasting 1 minute and happening every 4 minutes to be considered in active labour.
