How much of my mucus plug can I lose?

I’ve been losing a little here and there but then yesterday and today I’ve lost bigger chunks of it. I know it grows back but how much can I lose before I need to call the doc? No blood. Some Braxton Hicks contractions and back pain, but normal amounts. I’m 29w1d & FTM

I lost a teeny tiny bit and my midwife wanted me checked out asap because it was before 37 weeks. it does grow back but it is also a sign your cervix is opening up which could mean preterm labour. You should be talking your doctor or midwife as soon as it happens.
