What should a 7 month old eat?

I talked to his pediatrician the other day at his appt and she said that he can eat almost anything at this stage. Like scrambled eggs and a piece of toast

She said to let him feed himself so he can gain som independence instead of relying on me to feed him.

My baby doesn’t have any teeth yet, just all gums. He’s been very interested in the food that we eat and has only been introduced to puréed veggies and fruit. He loves the purees but I’m so nervous to sit him down in a high chair (which I just ordered and it’ll be here in 2 days 😁..) and give him a small tray of baby friendly foods..

He has a great grip on things and does try to feed himself with his spoons.

Any tips or advice?

I’m a FTM so be easy on me lol

Oh yea, he’s also strictly breastfeed. No formula, but I do want to start using formula for when I work again and if I ever go out. The doc also said I can put formula in a sippy cup, and to forget about using bottles at this point if I do switch. Has anyone done that?? Never heard of such thing
