Okay y’all I need some advice! Just a heads up this will be long.

So I recently started talking to this guy (a little over a month ago). We talk most days via Snapchat. There’s been a few phone calls, one was over three hours long. During our three hour phone call he said something along the lines of “wow 3 hours, I must be pretty important” and I said that goes two ways and he didn’t deny it.

A little side piece of relevant info: I knew he was at least talking to other girls, just kind of a feeling and there were signs but I won’t bore you with the details. But anyway, during one of our phone calls he told me he got invited to prom (we both graduated last year—- from different schools) and he explained it was by this girl that thinks they are dating and he just kinda let her think that but that he has recently told her that he didn’t like her like that and asked if they could go to prom as friends instead because he said he didn’t want to be the jerk to break up right before prom.

So also some relevant info: we have never actually met because he went to a school about 30 minutes away from me but my best friend (that goes to a different school then both of us) dated one of his triplet brothers so like I know him through her. Currently we live many states away so it’s not like we can go on any dates because after graduation I moved away. But I am going back to visit my dad and watch my best friend graduate (she’s a year younger then me) and I was kinda hoping to see him. And like we’ve kinda talked about it but haven’t made any plans. Most of what we’ve talked about seeing each other is teasing and flirting so idk how he feels about it.

I’m a little confused if he’s telling the truth about breaking it off with the girl though. All of her social media is private so I can’t see if she has any pictures of the two of them or anything.

Prom was just yesterday and he went with her and all. But like he said he didn’t want to be the jerk to break it off the week before prom, which I really do understand. But like I’m not stupid. I know what happens prom nights. And I know he had plans to drink and all so I have suspicions on him sleeping with her cause when he talked about breaking it off he also said something about her not really letting him break it off so I know she is still interested. But I also realize that we are just talking and I don’t have the right to judge if he slept with her or not.

He is always so hot and cold. One day he will talk to me a lot more then others. One day the convos will be very flirty and the next they are just boring. I just can’t tell if he’s playing hard to get or whatever or if he’s just playing me.

He is super sweet when we talk and I wouldn’t think he would just waste 3 hours of his time but I’m just really confused.

I just need some outside opinions. Anything can help. Any questions just ask!!
