Baby monitor?

Is a baby monitor really neccesary? Baby will be in my room with me and I'm not completely sure I see the point in a monitor tbh. No rude comments please just say why it is or is not necessary. Thank you

I think it would. Just in case the baby is asleep in the room and you want to get some stuff done around the house while the baby is sleeping. I think that’s what we are going to do because the baby will probably sleep in our room for a bit in the beginning.

yes. there will be times you want to go in another room to take care of things ( shower,  dishes, laundry, cook/eat, etc) and the monitor is a big help to see how baby is doing. it allows you your space to do things without having the door open and being silent as not to wake the baby.

I’d be lost without mine! Eventually you’ll want to go shower or make something to eat or watch tv while baby is sleeping and it’s really such a big piece of mind being able to see them. But, up to you of course!

We really only used ours in the end to monitor the temp in bubs room. Unless there’s there’s going to be times that they’re out of earshot (if you’re in a big house etc), then I personally wouldn’t bother until they’re in their own room.
We would sit in the lounge with the monitor on the coffee table, but could clearly here her when she woke up, so yeah, was kinda pointless!

I didn’t have 1 for my first but was in a 1-bedroom apartment. You could hear him EVERYWHERE! We now have one with our daughter in a2-story house. I can barely hear her from my room and her room (same floor). So I’m glad I have a camera now!

I got one and my daughter is always with me. But it’s honestly easier to leave her in the swing to pee, or to do my work. And when she goes to bed at 7:30, I hang out in the living for me time. My baby monitor works for that.
