Harvest Boxes VS Food Stamps

Trump had introduced the idea of harvest boxes to replace food stamps. Harvest Boxes are care packages filled with non perishable food items. I'm on the fence. Harvest Boxes seem very impractical, costly, and hard to execute, however they would be able to help those individuals that are in food deserts and have no access to healthy food. On the other hand, food stamps also increase GDP, gives the recipient the choice to choose their foods and there wouldn't be an issue of recording who can and can't eat certain food. I am not completely for harvest boxes but this is a step towards possibly a better way to feed low income families. What's your opinion? I welcome people with all your opinions! I'd love to hear what you think about this.
