This guy is really getting on my nerves (vent)

My best friend is named jack, jack has an older sister named madi, madi is dating a guy named Hamish. My boyfriend (oliver) used to be very good friends with hamish but recently they've drifted. Ben is a close friend of both oliver and ham. (This is just so you understand how we're all connected.)

Hamish is a twat and it's been really annoying me lately.

I first want to mention that he is a real cunt to madi. Madi is very academically smart (highest atar in high school, now attends second best uni in Australia) but she's very shy and not good with social situations. A few months ago, he asked he for and open relationship and she said she didn't want one, he kept bringing it up and she kept saying she didn't want that until one day he snapped and yelled in her face "I just want to fuck someone better than you".

That in it's self I find absolutely appalling. She then agreed and he went off and fucked a heap of girls while she didn't even look at anyone else. They became a closed relationship again after she went missing, walked off in the middle of the night, drunk, after he'd told a friend about some other girl he fucked in front of her. (She was asleep under the neighbours tree, but it freaked everyone out)

He constantly puts her down and makes her feel useless. Just the other day, we were playing Mario and she didn't somethjng wrong and he goes "for fuck sake madi, you're so stupid" and she goes "you always make me feel like shit" and he literally didn't say anything.

He had a big party at his house just this weekend, pitched it to her as "a boys night" then invited all her friends and her sister but not her and everyone else in the family was at a concert that night so she was completely alone (Me and oliver went over to keep her company so that turned out good for her but ham is still a cock.

She had a bottle of fireball whiskey she was saving for a special occasion under her bed. Ham has a party at her house and gets out the fireball. Madi goes "where'd you get that?? Is that mine?" He goes "yeah I got it from under your bed" and she said that she was saving it and was very clearly upset and he goes "oh well" and keeps pouring.

There are countless more examples but you get the picture

NOW TO THE STORY

Jack and madis house is really lovely, their parents are lovely, they're lovely, they have heaps of beds and they have an x box and a wii. It's just a nice place to be is what I'm trying to say.

Hamish stays at their house 13 nights for every two weeks, rent free and doesn't pay for any of his own food etc.

A few weeks ago Ham, jack, oliver and I were hanging at jacks house, playing the wii, just relaxing, having a mess around. And our jokes get a bit mean sometimes but we're all friends so I'm sure you know how it is, you take some you give some, no hard feelings. (I need to tell a back story for this next part to make sense)

STORY OF HAMS 21st

A few weeks ago it was Hams 21st which he held in a bar and invited about 80 people (most of which hate oliver and were horrible to him in high school). There was a big lead up to this party, ham made a very big deal out of it and was pressuring oliver to make a speech even though oliver firmly didn't want to, then ham got all upset and stroppy (this happened quite a few times)

I am underage along with jack and few of our friends that were there so we had to leave at 9 o'clock because of the licence or something. Anyway. Oliver was sleeping at my house that night and we had plans the next day and I didn't really want his getting drunk with all those people (not that I don't trust him, i have just heard a lot of stories about some of the girls there and wanted him to stay with me) so I wanted him to leave with me cause it made sense (also I was going out with jack, not going straight home and he doesn't even know how to get to my house, I'd just moved in and he's a spastic with direction)

I made it very clear to oliver that I was expecting him to leave with me and ham came up to me at least three times throughout the night begging me to let him stay. I said "I'm not forcing him to come with me, he can do what he wants, it just makes sense for him to come with me and I would be very uncomfortable if he stayed" and ham just kept fucking whining and we had the same convo three times.

anyway, he did leave with me and we had a lovely rest of the night

BACK TO MAIN STORY

So we're sitting on the couch and ham goes to oliver (very loudly so I could purposely hear) "I'm gunna have another 21st buddy juuust for you, and this time, you can stay the whooole night" so I turned around and said "and he still won't make a speech." Then smiles sweetly.

So we're clearly having a jab at each other, which he started but I didn't think much of it, just a joke.

He texts oliver the next day saying "I don't want to socialise with Reagan anymore. She just makes me feel like shit." (Reagan is my full name) so the fist thought I think is: it's not like I go out of my way to socialise with him, he's just fucking always at my best friends house.

The second: he was a cunt first

So I'm like okay cool, I'm not crying, I was never a big fan.

Me and jack have a friend named Claudia (pronounced cloud-i-a) who is an exchange student and she's going back to Italy on Saturday so we're having a surprise goodbye party for her tomorrow at jacks house. Hamish has invited ben along because he "can't handle" me being there. He's saying this to jack so jack says "well ya know you could just go home" and ham goes "NO I'm not going to let her push me out of my way of living" and jack was like "um okay then but she's my best friend so ya know she has a right to be here" and he goes "I have more of a right to be here cause I'm fucking madi" and jack says "right but you don't have the right to tell her to leave"

And apparently ham is still super cut about me at his 21st and bitches about me on the regular.

So claudias party is tomorrow night and I think I'll wind him up just to spite him but we'll see how it goes :)

Another substory:

He places so much emphasis that he has a job and works four days a week. Like he comes home and we'll all want to do something and he wants to do something else and he goes "cmon guys I've been working all week" but we all have jobs, he all work, I've actually got two jobs and me and jack have school and homework. Plus he only works five hour days, and it's in a bottle shop, it's not anything extraneous. He's very condescending about the whole thing.

Oliver has only recently gotten his first job and is in the process of buying a car and rents a room in a share house and Hamish is very clearly jealous of him and is just plain awful about it and then plays if off like a joke. That's mainly why they've drifted lately along with him being weird with me.
