Best Laundry Detergent for Baby?

Trying to find the best laundry detergent for baby before he gets here. I know I’ll most likely have to go through trial and error to find what works best, but any suggestions are welcome. Hopefully something that can be used for both baby and adult clothes.

Out of the choices you listed, Seventh Generation natural powder (not liquid) laundry detergent (not the Seventh Generation Baby detergent) is the only option that is actually safe. Most of the others (even the “free and clear” choices and most baby soap, including Babyganics) score an “F” on EWG for safety. Mrs. Meyer scores a “C” which is better than the others, but not great. We used to use Kirkland free and clear, but it scores an “F” as well 😩. So far the safest brand I’ve found is Molly’s Suds because it has extremely safe and simple ingredients. Planet laundry soap also works very well and has an “A” rating for safety.

I just used my normal Arm and Hammer detergent with my daughter. I figured why spend extra money and do her laundry separately if I don’t have to? We monitored her skin closely, and she didn’t have any reactions, so that’s what we’ve always used.

Anything free from scents. We use tide free and clear.  Or all. I was told the baby detergent isn’t worth it when I took my baby care basics class at the hospital. She said it was a marketing strategy and the stuffs not much different than the other non scented stuff.

Anything “free and clear” is good. If you have a Walgreens near you and you have the Walgreens app or the ability to print coupons from coupons.com, you can get these packs of pods for $.50-$1.00 depending on the coupon.

All free and clear. Use it for all our clothes- no fragrances and dyes which is perfect for sensitive baby skin. You don’t need all the crap that’s in dreft
