CNA OR PHLEBOTOMY???!

Question

Hi my daughter is 1 1/2 and I’m working two job and my husband works so my daughter and our selves live happy ... anyways this summer I wanna go get my certification in cna or phlebotomy but I’m not sure witch one I should get first ... if I have any moms on here who is doing or is certified in one of time tell me witch one should I do and y ?? Just depends on what interests you more. CNA is pretty much being a mom for your patients. Feeding, changing, overall taking care of them. Phlebotomy you’re poking them with needles and getting samples, general lab work, etc. you spend a lot less time with one specific patient then you would as a CNA, which you might like or might not. I’m not sure about pay difference but I do feel like CNA’s have a larger variety of jobs and if you wanted to go back to school to get your RN, that’s an option!

Phlebotomy, definitely. CNA pay I very low and the work is very everywhere. You cook us end up charting, working the reception where you schedule appointments, clean after the patient leaves... It's not very rewarding and generally the market is flooding with CNAs... Most places prefer RMAs. Labs is better pay and work.

CNA work can be very hard physically and often times you work shorthanded. I liked the job well enough, but it was very stressful, tiring, and I was always sore. If you go into CNA work you really have to be in it for the patients and want to provide care for others or else it will be a nightmare. This is only from my experience in 3 different nursing homes. In home care might be different.
