Constant nursing?

Day 6 since Little one has joined us and last night and today were rough. She constantly wants to nurse even though she isn’t necessarily eating. She isn’t really letting anyone else hold her and she wants the boob constantly. Soooo tired! Anyone else exclusively breastfeeding and running into this?

My daughter was comfort nursing so I introduced a pacifier on day 2. It has helped a lot!

I had the same experience but it lasted for the first two weeks, then we found out baby wasn't gaining weight and my milk supply was probably too low. The dr had us start supplementing with formula and it made a huge difference (a couple hours between feedings instead of constant). Now he's getting fed and much happier, and I'm working on increasing my milk supply.

Check your latch with a lactation consultant. It may be that you are not latched well, and so she isn't actually getting much milk. Her instincts say that if she is not getting enough, she needs to raise your supply by nursing more frequently. Unfortunately, if she isn't latched properly, she won't raise your supply very well, either. Definitely find an LC to help you out.

It happens often, usually during a growth spurt.  They are basically upping our supply  by cluster feeding.

It's completely normal at this age. You'll notice frequent sessions like this more often than not during the early days and weeks as babies go through multiple growth spurts (back to back during the first couple of weeks) resulting in cluster feeding. Just keep telling your self babys is only helping build your supply. And don't worry, you are making plenty for baby. Don't think you're not because of how often they nurse. This is why breastfeeding is hard, the growth spurts seems to almost never end, but they do! Hang in there mama, you're doing great!

My life everyday! During the day I can usually get 2-3 hours where I can put him down and get things done and sneak in lunch but by late afternoon and into evening he wants to constantly nurse and he just turned a month old today. He pretty much hates everyone but me, if I hand him to my husband he screams until I take him back. If anyone else tries to hold him he will scream after a few min. It’s stressful at times but I try to enjoy it since he’s my last baby and they grow so quick.
