Why is America having so many issues?

Hi guys so I'm not from America and I have been hearing my friends in America studying abroad saying it is horrible. People are not getting along, and it is chaotic! I thought America was a nation where everybody is patriotic. Though, it seems like people are fighting with anybody that doesn't think like them. Like so many genders are appearing, how are so many genders!?! I am from Asia and my friends are from Europe and Australia, are both confused and shocked at behaviors of Americans. I do not mean to sound racist! Just ???

The whole “new genders” thing is actually opposed by a lot of people. Depends where you go. Honestly America is full of so many different people and beliefs, it’s hard to judge “the behavior of Americans” because you need to specify WHICH Americans. Right now I’d say the biggest problem is intolerance towards different opinions. People aren’t open to the idea that someone would vote for a different president, that someone is left winged or right winged. Regardless of what you take, someone will call you a fucking idiot.

The problem isn’t that “so many genders are appearing”, the problem is that there are so many bigots, including the Cheeto who is supposed to represent everyone in the country. And you clearly haven’t been here if you think there isn’t a lot of patriotism, because people will go bat shit if you even mention that there are better ways to do things, especially if you mention another country using a method. To most people, if it’s being done here, it’s the right way. People are blindly patriotic. And nearly everything here is about being racist and hating on the poor, but too many people think racism doesn’t exist anymore

Multiple genders isn't an "American" thing, historically and currently there are different cultures that don't have just two genders. And although the US has many issues, these things get exaggerated when you don't actually know Americans or have been to America. Trust me, the people in this country (France) think Americans just shoot guns and go to mcdonalds everyday, that's not true at all. If you actually want to learn about it, talk to more Americans, go visit if you can and not just New York. There are many freedoms that other countries don't have

Honestly, it’s the Freedom. The freedom is wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but with recent cultural developments of freedom of Choice (to choose who you are, in gender and in sex specifically), people want the freedom to literally be whoever they want to be.
And that’s great, be you. But now the idea is if anyone thinks differently, or says they don’t agree (I’m not pangender trisexual, for instance, and I don’t agree with that way of life), it’s a serious offense. How dare you take away their freedom with your hate speech.
Honestly, we have freedom of speech too. Freedom of religion. It HAS to be okay that people are different. That’s why we have freedom, and we’re the land of opportunity.
I have a lot more I can say on the subject, but I mainly think it’s because we have gone too far with what is considered a god-given human right, as per our country’s constitution we were founded upon.

Wow so much to unpack here. First, I don’t think you said anything racist since you were talking about the country that is historically (and sometimes infamously) known for being very diverse.
The “so many genders appearing” is a funny way to phrase it, but I see what you are asking. There aren’t more genders appearing, but rather people who do not identify with the gender they were born with are getting more visibility in the media. 
That, however, has nothing to do with the other big problems in America you mentioned. 
One of the biggest problems in America is the polarization of beliefs and the political spectrum. There are a number of factors that contributed to the extreme partisanship of politics right now, including gerrymandering (redrawing electoral district lines for partisan gain) and problems with people only talking to others who agree with them and not trying to consider the other side’s position, which is reinforced by social media. This polarization has exacerbated existing divides and ongoing problems in America, especially racism, sexism, homophobia, and prejudice in general
As for the government being “broken”, he answer is yes and no. The American government is HUGE and it has a lot of different parts, some of which have continued to function properly, like the post office, for instance. Other parts have been nearly completely and rather dangerously “broken” like the environmental protection agency. The current president has basically throwna wrench into the workings of the government and some things are more impacted than others. Trump has been fighting with various parts of the government since he got into office, which understandably has been causing some chaos in the country. Presidents don’t usually fight with the people they appointed, and of course most presidents and their staff actually research things before doing anything. I could go on about how much Trump is screwing up the government and screwing over the American people, but we don’t have the time.
To summarize, your friends aren’t wrong that America is in a bit of a chaotic state right now, but normal daily life has continued to function for most people.
