Skin around ear piercing is red?

Grace • “Here’s to strong women - May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”

I had my ears pierced a few months ago, like the end of last year with a gun (ugh, I know) and I’m certain they’re completely healed, so I don’t think this has anything to do with that. I’ve noticed that the skin around my piercing is red, on the back of both of my ears and I believe the front of one of my ears, but not as bad as the back.. They don’t hurt at all,

I was just wondering what may cause that? Is this what you guys’ look like? Do they eventually look normal? I thought maybe it might be from the earrings being pushed against my skin from laying down and just everyday wear, but I’m not sure.
