I might sound stupid, but can my 7 month old have signs of autism this early?

What are your concerns? Some signs for autism are developmentally appropriate in babies but not toddlers. However if your baby is not displaying eye contact, smiling, interacting and responding to you, etc. then yes it could be a sign.

I'm a pediatric occupational therapist and the good and bad news is that it is too early to tell. Some kids are just a little slower in reaching their milestones and this is perfectly normal while frequently kids with autism will meet all of their milestones and then have a regression between 1 and 2 years old. So just love on that kiddo and keep doing all the great things I'm sure you're already doing, and try not to overanalyze every little thing. 😊

After taking many SPed classes and developmental psychology classes for my degree, it is Way too early to diagnose a child with autism. Those signs you may be seeing and reading up on Dr Google may just be nothing and you’re reading into it way too far.  No doctor will diagnose a child that young.

I think it's too early to tell... many things that are considered red flags in toddlers are normal developmental in infants... like hand flapping or head banging... its when they don't grow out of this that it's considered a red flag...maintaining eye contact and name response would only be the two things u may notice as early as 9 months,.. anything else is just a developmental... does ur baby respond to his/her name and does he/she maintain eye contact...??? What other red flags have u noticed...???

No doctor would diagnose until after two. But I read one sign would be to check for eye contact. Just don’t get stressed out about it. They’re young and there’s lots to explore and look at!

I wouldn’t say anything definitive at that age but if you’re very attentive I’m sure you may possibly notice things.
