Nursing Enough?

My little one is almost 2 weeks old. He has been a wonderful eater and we were nursing for about twenty minutes every 1.5/2 hours. Starting yesterday he has cut way down to only nursing for two, maybe three, minutes on each side and then falls asleep. He is getting between 8-10+ wet diapers a day so I think he is still eating plenty but I don't understand why he is nursing for such a short amount of time? Is this normal? I have tried different ways to keep him awake while nursing but nothing works!
