OPK PCOS HELP

so this is my first time tempting. tempted every day since a few days after my period ended. tempted today and there was a spike so took opk and it was very much positive!! took one 3 days before and it was negative. if i got this positive, does it mean the follicle definitely ruptured and let the egg down because it’s showing positive for lh? or is that not guaranteed? i was put on metformin after being diagnosed with pcos to regulate my insulin so all my hormones are finally in check so now I am actually ovulating but before i had a prob with the follicles not maturing or not rupturing when they are supposed to and just sitting in the ovaries piling up so really curious if my little egg was even released. does it still test positive if you haven’t released the egg?
