Basinetts...?

Hey, FTM here and I’m about to start buying everything so I’m just wondering... Is it really necessary to get a separate bassinet? Or can I just use a pack and play instead. The one I’m planning on getting has a bassinet attachment.
Also is getting a stroller with a bassinet option needed? Or is it ok to just use the car seat? How long do babies even tend to stay/need a bassinet?

I’m getting a bassinet to place next to bed so I don’t have to get up and out of bed every time to breastfeed when they’re little. My mother did this for her children and recommends it.

I've gone kinda crazy and bought a bassinet for our bedroom and a pack n play with change table and bassinet for the living room.  I plan to sleep train her into her crib after a few months, but feel it all might make my life a bit easier.

We have a Graco pack n play with changer and bouncer/bassinet attachments. On advice from our pediatrician, we took out the bouncer/bassinet and our baby sleeps in the pack n okay. It took some getting used to (on his part) but now that we swaddled him differently, he really doesn’t mind it. I think it will be an easier transition to the crib as well. 
Although it would be nice to have something right next to me for those middle-of-the-night-feedings, I think this option has been best for me, as it forces me to wake up a little more and focus on what I’m doing. Early in, I would constantly fall asleep with him on my chest, so I moved it a bit farther away and it’s definitely helped. The combo with the changer has been great though! Plus, it all still comes apart and travels easily, just like a normal pack n play!

My sister in law just used the pack n play with my second niece. She bought both the first time around and baby grew out of the bassinet so quickly she barely even got to use it for the money she spent. We just got a pack n play for our little one due in Sept.

Babies don’t stay in the bassinets/cradles long but I still like them and think they are worth it. I used them with my 3 Kids and had nothing but positive experiences my youngest is still in his cradle for now he’s 9 weeks and he likes that it’s higher up and he can look out of the sides. My older two were in bassinets as far as the stroller I’ve Always just used the car seats

I've never gotten a bassinet with any of my 4, imo they're a waste of money, baby outgrows it so fast. I either do a pack n play or a crib. I've never heard of a stroller with a bassinet, I do however recommend getting a travel system where the carseat snaps securely into the stroller

No its not necessary. You have to decide I that’s what you want or if you’re okay with using the pack and play right away. A stroller car seat combo is just fine as well.

I had both but if you have a pack n play then the bassinet is not really necessary. My daughter was in hers about 5-6 months.

babies don't stay in bassinet for long, I believe it was like 3 months? maybe not even. I got a pack and play! bassinet attachment for strollers are cool but again, they don't stay in it for long..

We did a pack n play with infant inserts. Babies grow out of bassinets too quickly
