Cervix checks?

I had my cervix checked today for the first time at 37w5 and holy sh*t that hurt!! She told me it would be uncomfortable, but it hurt so bad I grabbed her arm and just about jumped off the bed. Is that normal? She said my cervix is still long and doesn't seem to be dialating yet. Dang 😑

just decline them. they're not necessary and don't tell you anything useful.

I wouldn’t let a provider check unless I was contracting or my water broke or had other signs of labor. There is no reason for them to be all up in there unless you have symptoms of some kind

Mine hurt with my first but sex hurt also, everything was just really tight. 😪

Mine usually didnt hurt but this time he really reached up there and took his time feeling around😭😭I actually grabbed my husbands arm and pinched him it was so intense 😩

I declined all last pregnancy until I was being induced and I don’t remember them hurting. Then again I was in the middle of a whirl wind. This time my dr doesn’t check until after 38 weeks I’ll be 38+4 when I get my first check if I don’t decline. They really don’t tell you much. I let her check during induction because they need to know if they need to start with ripening or if they can go to pitocin or what.
