I don’t know which form of birth control i should get. I have talked to my Doctor and she told me to pick out of these three. Opinions??

I needed my depo weight gain but it caused me odd symptoms like sore boobs when my next shot was due. I chose to not get it again after being on it for 8 years. Last August was my last due date for the shot and I’m now 8 weeks pregnant. My fertility cane back quite quickly but I know so many people that have suffered badly on it. I never liked the thought of the other two options. Have you thought about Basel temperature taking and cycle  mapping? Its the only method I will use in future due to no longer wanting to suppress my own natural cycle which can wreck havok with us ladies

All of these really have their pros and their awful cons. The Depo shot is known to cause infertility problems and rapid weight gain. A copper IUD has had previous cases of breaking through the cervix and free floating through the body and needing surgery. Implants are also known for “drifting” from implant site and causing trouble. Each birth control out there has its pros and cons and one type may react negatively to your body and another might not. I would just seriously weigh the pros and cons and the possible complications of each time before you settle on one.

I’ve heard the depo causes significant weight gain and possible infertility. I’m not sure how accurate these are but I’ve seen people who’ve had it say this. The IUD is a good option but if you’re not up for something inserted in your womb then maybe it’s not for you. I personally have the implant and I love it. It’s not very invasive it just goes in your arm, you can feel it there and it lasts for 3 years and is very effective

DONT DO DEPO !! I GAINED SO MUCH WEIGHT ON THE SHOT! I recommend the implant 100% !!  It’s super effective and it’s in for 3 years!

I do not recommend depo. it's the only birth control that is known to cause weight gain and it can also cause permanent damage to your body such as bone density loss. it also causes temporary infertility in some women. it also stores itself in your fat cells for months after stopping. the copper IUD is non hormonal and a good option. my doctor said she personally wouldn't recommend it because some people get allergic reactions to the copper and a lot of people bleed a lot with it. I've heard good things about the implant, it's very effective with minimal side effects. Since none of these contain estrogen you may have very irregular bleeding.
