What are your views on an 18 year old dating a 27 year old?

I've recently really liked this guy who is 27, at first we were friends but now it's just grew into something else. There is so much chemistry all of a sudden. He's the most sweetest guy I've ever met. He is so different to any other guy I've been with, I genuinely feel cared about, like him always making sure I get home safe after a night out and him messaging me checking how I am. I just don't know what to do about it all, I'm scared of what other people will think of me and us together, if it gets to that point. Also how I would break the news to my parents.
