In my region of the United States, families have one baby shower for their first baby. We don’t do a second or third baby shower, and we don’t do sprinkles - they’re seen as tacky and as if the parents are basically asking for gifts. The reasoning behind this is that showers here are a celebration of the couple becoming parents - it is not a celebration of the individual baby.

I’ve seen some posts on here or in the app in general that each baby can/should be celebrated and that sprinkles are okay, or second showers are okay if the second baby is the opposite sex, for example. I’m wondering what everyone’s take on this is.

Personally, I think any shower/sprinkle beyond the first one is super tacky, and I’d never consider such a thing, but I’m understanding that it may be cultural, as well.
