Greatest parents ever!!!!

I am posting this on here instead of Facebook because my brother cannot find out (per parents request) but I have some of the greatest parents ever! A little backstory: my fiancé and I are expecting our first child (a daughter) due in August. We both have good paying jobs but it was beginning to get stressful on me because I make sure all our bills get paid. We were in a situation where we had they money for bills and maybe $50-100 extra. I had no idea how we were going to cope with me taking time off work when I have our baby.

My stepdad got a pre-qualified loan offer of up to $20,000 and him and my mom filled it out to try for it. $20,000 would really help them (pay off their credit cards, hospital bills, fix the house up, etc.)

Well instead of doing all that with it. They decided that if they got it they were going to help me and my fiancé out by paying off our $7,500 debt under the circumstances that we gave them our credit cards and pay them back (no interest). My mom figured it up using only my fiancé’s pay check to determine how much money we would pay for bills and how much we would have for us. It would be $300 a month to pay them back and take just over 2 years.

All the stress I’ve had on my shoulders was taken off last night. They were approved for the $20,000 loan a few days ago and it was in their account yesterday. Last night my mom and I went into all of the accounts and paid them all off. Just over $7,100 in credit cards alone. Plus another $300 to pay off my fiancé’s traffic fine so he can get his license back.

Now our only bills are the $300 for my parents, our car payment, his phone bill, and the little bills of things like Netflix and Hulu. We went from paying almost $750 a month in bills to now having to pay only $620 a month.

I know there are going to be the people that are going to say we shouldn’t have gotten ourselves into so much debt but we were able to manage, we had everything we needed. It’s just with a baby on the way, the money would have been really tight for us and my parents were going to be helping us out a lot anyway. My parents now control all of our credit cards and will only let us use them if they see it as being absolutely necessary (ie. I lose more weight then just pregnancy weight and need to get a few new clothes to get me started)

My parents didn’t have to do this for us but they did and I am so thankful for them in every way possible and I’m glad my daughter will have some amazing grandparents to help raise her. Sorry for the long post but I needed to let someone know about my amazing parents.
