Using middle name as ‘first’ name?

We really love the name Grey for our son, and want this to be his primary name that he’s called. However we’re struggling for middle names that ‘flow’ with Grey nicely. I really like Hudson. However Grey Hudson sounds funny coming out of my mouth, as opposed to Hudson Grey. Are we overthinking this, or is it okay to call our LO Grey if we end up using it as the middle name? *Also Hudson isn’t a definite pick, just an example I’m using!

Personally I think it’s kinda silly to use a middle name from the get-go instead of just naming the kid that for their first name. Realistically, you’ll only say his first and last names together 90% of the time so the flow isn’t as important in my mind. I think it’s a PITA when people go by their middle name because of documentation. I’m also a data manager so it’s an obvious pain point for me because it causes traceability issues lol

I never understand why parents call their kids by their middle names. But it's your child. I just would use it as his first name.

The only reason our future son will go by a middle name is because my husbands family has a “family name” of naming the boy James..no one goes by James but it’s been in the family for 7 generations so I can’t say no. Other than a similar reason; I think it’s silly.

My fiancé family has called him by his middle name since he was 3. Aaron (first name) Alexander (middle name). I don’t think you’re overthinking it lol.

I go by my middle name. I sometimes forget to answer to my first when at a doctors office haha. I don’t think it’s a big deal. 💕 Love the name Grey and Hudson Grey. If Grey goes well with your last name then it doesn’t matter as much honestly. It’s the combo he’ll use the most anyhow.
