My June baby turned into a May baby!!
My son who was due June 12 came today!! Genuinely one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I went all natural without an epidural but omg I didn’t think I could do it at a certain point. Just glad baby is here and doing excellent!!
So my story, May 7 was like a normal day in pregnancy. He was moving a little more than usual but he’s usually really active. It wasn’t until I got home to rest from work that things felt different. He was putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis and I had to go to the bathroom literally every 30-45 minutes so I knew something was up. Fast forward to 3:30 am on the 8th. I got up to use the bathroom and on the way there I felt a small gush. My first thought was oh sh*t was that what I think it is? Lol.

Well I made it to the toilet and peed but I was still gushing a little as well so I knew. I woke up my SO and we headed to the hospital.
Since my water didn’t completely break the kept me in L&D; emergency to check my progress. Once the night doctor came in he checked my cervix and broke the rest of my water. Once I was moved to the delivery room, they gave me a steroid shot to help develop his lungs. Shortly after contractions had started but were very irregular. Once 10 am hit they decided to give me pitocin to get a rhythm going. Once they did that, wow did things get stared! My contractions were 2-4 minutes apart but I could still breathe through them.
How I felt with the “easy” contractions

Once they checked me again around 1 I was 5 cm dilated. When I hit 8 cm about 45 minutes later that’s when contractions were unbearable. All my breathing went out the window and I was truly ready to give up.

Without any smiles but definitely screams!! 😫😫 Thankfully my nurse was truly amazing and kept me going. The last 1/2 cm was the hardest to get through. I was stuck between not being able to push out REALLY wanting to. Once I was fully dilated and the pushing began, that was a different ballgame! I was so scared that I would tear but at the same time wanted to tear because I wanted him out! Lol. The hardest was the first pushes to get his head out. Each push would take so much out of me and since I had eaten anything by liquids since the day before I was exhausted!! Luckily pushing only lasted 20 minutes before he was out and screaming! Wouldn’t have even been able to tell he was a premie from his scream and relatively normal birth weight!
Meet D’Angelo Lamar Carter born 3:49PM May 8 weighing 5lb 6oz. Welcome to the world my sweet baby boy 💙💙
