Is sex painful with copper IUD?

Question

Considering getting the copper IUD implant but have been talked out of it.  A friend of mine had said its is extremely painful during sex especially in certain positions, and can feel like your being stabbed in the uterus. She even experience spotting after intercourse. I know everyone is different but some xtra insight would be extremely helpful.

I have a copper IUD and my experience is the same. I don’t regret getting it because it  seems to be the best method that has worked for me. But the side effects are things I can do without 🙄

I LOVED my copper iud!!!! I never felt anything. You need to find a dr that has put in a lot of them. They can even put it in with an ultrasound. It shouldn’t hurt

I was told you shouldn’t have pain after intercourse. Your IUD could be too low, you should get your placement checked and make sure it’s not too low.

na I'm A OK. no problems here. my strings were too long and my SO felt them thr first time we had sex after I had it put in.. but my doc trimmed them a little and once it settled I've had no problems
