I had a shower with my second baby. It was my husbands first child. It was also a girl and my son was already 7 at the time.
Do whatever you feel comfortable with! I’d love to have one with baby #3 because it’s a boy but I have all the basics I need from our 18 month old daughter. Just need boy clothes 👍🏻

I had one with my first (girl). wanted a celebration for my second (girl) but nobody would help me out. I really just wanted to see everyone I loved, eat cake, and celebrate the new baby. I ended up throwing the party by myself and nobody showed up. I was so upset. my father in law came over and told me to get in the car. he took me to babies r us and told me to put whatever we still needed in the cart plus some fun extras.  It wasnt ever about the gifts, it was about love and support and he totally made my day! now we are expecting our third (boy) and my friends want to throw me a shower (new/better friends than I had with my second pregnancy) I'm excited but nervous nobody will come again. it is a different gender this time so maybe... but I'm really nervous about the emotional let down again.

I'm of the opinion that every baby deserves to be celebrated. You don't necessarily need to ask for things unless baby is a different gender or if it's been a ling time in between kids. I'm pregnant with baby #3 and my best friend and sister in law are planning a shower for me. but it'll just be a celebration for the new life 💙

We're having our third baby and are planning to have a party with our friends and family. I agree that every baby deserves celebration! As we already have a girl and a boy, and I saved all their baby things, we're going to ask for donations of nappies and wipes for the local crisis pregnancy center. If people are hankering to give a gift, that is 😉
