I think this is great for women who want to still experience pregnancy, especially if their SO wants to be biologically related. It can help the woman form a bond, although I personally would love an adopted child just as much, it’s not the same for everyone. I was an egg donor and had the honor of meeting one of the couples who chose my egg(s)- donors aren’t told how many are implanted or successful, but I know they went through with it. They wanted to see my personality firsthand so we all used fake names and had a meeting through the agency. They both had PhDs and ran their own engineering firm. By the time they tried she was in her 40s and only had two good eggs left, and unfortunately neither stuck. They knew they wanted someone with a high level of college education, particularly in science, and high test scores (intelligence is inherited from mitochondrial DNA which only comes from the mother) and that looked similar to the mother (she’s Polish and I’m Czech). All around it was a great experience and I’m glad I could help them.
