heavy bleeding after d&e

I had a missed miscarriage (baby stopped growing at 10 weeks, I should have been almost 13 weeks when we found out it had died) and had to have a d&e; done on May 3rd. I go back for my check up on May 18th. I am still having days where I will not be bleeding and go into a spurt where I soak a pad in about 15 to 20 minutes. The doctor said that it shouldn't be happening and to take 3 ibuprofen and if the bleeding doesn't settle to go to the e.r. Is/has this happened to anyone else?? Is there anything I can do to help ease the bleeding. 😢😢
