I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my baby.  I never heard a heartbeat or saw a baby in an ultrasound. Do you consider me a mother or WAS I a mother? Just wondered how others view it. Thanks

If I was in your situation, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a mother. If you want to, that’s up to you. People define motherhood differently and I think it’s a personal journey and feeling.

Yes I do consider you a mother. I’m sure you had plans to love and raise your baby as a mother does! It’s not your fault you didn’t get the chance. You’re the MOTHER to an angel baby so yes!

I had an ectopic with my first. I never thought of myself as a mother. But I did always believe (and still do) that I have a baby in heaven. The title mother though consists a lot more than carrying for a few weeks to me so I never personally felt I was a mother until I had a child in my arms to love and care for. Everyone’s different though. I don’t feel like there’s a right or wrong opinion on that. So sorry for your loss!

I lost mine at 8 weeks. I don't consider myself a mother persa but I do get a small cake in the birth month as a reminder. It's really how you present yourself
