Am I worrying too much?

We have vacation scheduled next month in Hawaii and I just can't stop worrying about my son running off into the ocean.. It's my worst fear that I will be so worried that I won't have fun because of this. I'm anxious about the flight. I just need some positive encouragement!

It will be fine! I was all nervous when we went on our first real family vacation to Aruba. The plane ride was 5 hours long, just pack accordingly, snacks , toys IPAD lol. With the beach just try sitting some distance away from the water. Also I had my daughter sit on a beach chair she loved it since it was something new. Pack snacks. And just always be with your child when you go near the water. It was fun all in all lol

Maybe because I live in Florida and spend most weekends at the beach with my LO, I don’t think it’s too much of a concern. You’ll be by your sons side the entire time. I can’t imagine he’d ever leave your sight. I generally set up the blanket and umbrella a good distance away from the shore (not too close so if they start to wonder off, you have time to intercept). Have plenty of toys— my LO tends to enjoy playing with the sand more than the water.

Yes I think you are worried too much. I took my munchkin to the ocean over Easter. She ran straight to it every day but only really got her toes wet. She held my hand and splashed up to maybe her calves for a while then played in the sand the rest of the time.

How old is your son? We just took our toddler to the beach this last weekend and I quickly learned why that would be an issue 🤦🏼‍♀️ he didn’t like the beach until the last night and was chasing the waves with me when he suddenly booked it straight into a wave. Luckily it wasn’t very deep and I was right behind him but he tripped face first into the wave. I scooped him up and he was fine besides being completely soaked and sandy. He did learn though why mom said not to run into the wave. He’s almost two.

You’re just being a good mumma imo. You don’t want bubs to run into any danger and that’s completely normal and all you want to do is protect him. Just remind yourself you’ve protected him so well in every day life that going on holiday will be fine. Take it a day at a time. Will you have someone else with you on holiday? If so share your concerns! You’ll be fine. Enjoy the holiday! X
