No regrets (positive or negative)?

today i had some down time to think. i was thinking about the saying "no regrets" and i couldnt help but feel like maybe thats a negative way of thi king. like its kinda like lying to yourself. 
for example, i have a few "regrets" that i have learned from and feel that making those mistakes made me a better person. but by saying "i have no regrets" seems a bit counterintuitive. if i have no regrets then maybe i havent learned from my mistakes and im not growing as a person. 
what do yall think? is "no regrets" a positive or negative outlook on life?

I made mistakes that shaped me into a better person when I learned from them. Those don’t bother me. But I also have regret for some of the mistakes I made that negatively impacted others. They are still mistakes I learned from, but I regret that I hurt someone in the process and feel there was probably a “better” way for me to learn.

I wouldn't be who I am today without all that other stuff.  I feel confident saying I have no regrets, that doesn't mean I don't recognize the piles of shit that litter my past.  I just wouldn't change any of it even if I could.

I don’t think they go hand in hand. If you made a mistake, you analyzed it, you learned from it. Then you wouldn’t have a regret because that mistake helped you grow. That’s what people mean when they say No Regrets. I personally have none. Everything I did and everything I am is because of all the paths and people I came across. I’m stronger for it.

A regret is something you would do differently if given the chance . I believe everything is a butterfly effect, change one thing in the past and your present is totally different. So I would not change a thing I did, because if I did I wouldn’t be the same person I am today. Therefore, I have no regrets. Make sense?

no regrets gives you a positive outlook on your life but can also make you forget some of the mistakes you made to become the person you are. everyone makes good and bad choices that makes us who we are I certainly have but I never regret my mistakes as they made me who I am. I made the mistake of having unprotected sex but I would never regret it as I now have two amazing children who I love and have made me a better person more focused on creating a better future for us. there's a difference between mistakes and regrets don't confuse the two as that creates a negative outlook

Even the shitty stuff that’s happened isn’t a regret, or something I’ve said at some point. I don’t regret anything because it all contributes to the great thang that is me you know? I don’t dwell on that past stuff much if at all🤷🏻‍♂️
