neck hurts after being choked

okay so I think the title says it all but while me and my boyfriend were having sex he choked me a little to hard this time and my neck has been feeling tender for 6 hours now. it's the first time he's went this hard and I know he didn't mean it because when I told him it hurt he cuddled me and he ended up crying. I just don't know what to do not tho. like it's the side of my neck where it's tender like right below where you would feel for your pulse. any suggestions?
