People in room at birth

The only people I want in the room is my husband and mother ( only my mother because she is experienced in child birth without medication) and I feel like I need her to be there. So my question is how did you tell your family especially your mother in law they were not invited with out them being offended or feeling any kind of way? She already asked my mom about it idk what her answer was (doesn't matter not her choice anyways) so she is already trying to see if she can come but the answer is simply no.
