When is it too soon to start planning a first birthday??

Our sons birthday is in December so obviously it will be cold and we can’t do anything outdoors. It’s a first birthday so I don’t know about paying for a birthday party at a facility... my other kids all were summer/spring babies so they had parties at my parents outside.. what things have you ladies done for Winter birthdays?

My daughters birthday is December 9th. For her first birthday, we had friends and family over. We just did food, cake, and presents. Idk to me that’s all that really needs to be done. It didn’t take long to plan at all.

My daughter first birthday is in September and I’ve already started planning. Stuff like event hall planning should be done three months before because they get booked up. You should have some sort of theme in mind. I know I’m doing a unicorn theme already. It’s never too early to buy things that go with the theme especially if it’s on sale. I would keep it simple. Just a cake, some music, a few balloons and some sort of activity or goody bag for older kids. It would be better done at an event place because most places like chuckie cheese are geared towards older kids.

Never too early to start planning! Get stuff a little at a time so it doesn’t end up being a huge expense last minute. I wanted to start 6 months before but people laughed at me for starting so early... well I ended up putting it off and feeling rushed.

I have one child is August and two in February. One is a newborn so he hasn’t had his first birthday yet but my middle child is the other February and for him we usually do Chuck E. Cheese or like a jump zone type place. He’s only 6 so he really enjoys that for my newborn I may have to rent a hall or just have it at my moms house (hers is bigger than mine) unless I can find a place where a one yr old can play

Hmm,  I misunderstood the question before answering, I think start planning the month of is just fine. I usually start two months prior because I make everything from decor to food. I have two boys so finding time to get it done is hard...which is why I start about 1-2 months in advance. But we usually do things at our home so no need to rent a space.
