Double stroller - yes or no?

Question

My husband and I are expecting our first baby and we would love to have a second baby a couple years from now. Is a double stroller worth having? Or should we stick with a single? We found a stroller that converts to a double later on (you just buy and attach the second seat).

We have an UPPAbaby vista. You don’t have to have it as a double unless you want to put the extra seat on. So it’s essentially a single for as long as you need. I would look into something like that where you have the option of one or two seats. You could always just buy a single and sell it if/when you’d need a double in the future.

I had a double stroller when I had twins, and that thing was a beast.  When I had my single baby 3 1/2 years later, I didn't buy a new single stroller right away and I hated using that huge thing! So even if you end up having to spend extra money on a double stroller a few years later, I think the convenience of a single stroller for the one is worth it.

If I knew about a single that converts to a double when I had my first child, I would've bought it! It would've been cheaper than buying a $300 travel system, and THEN buying a double when we had our second. 
I have the baby jogger city select lux. It's a single stroller that can be converted to a double. My children are 2 years apart and our stroller gets used DAILY!

The concept is wonderful!!. Buying a stroller that can convert into 2. The reason we didn’t is 1- we got a great deal on a travel system $200 instead of $700 2- we want to have our second kid as soon as we can after this one pops out but you never know how long it would take. My first child could be 3 by the time we have our 2nd child. 3- I cant justify spending $1100 on a stroller after everything else we have purchased. I’m cheap thought hahaha 
I’ve heard wonderful things about Uppababy. My friend has it and it is awesome. Feels like you are pushing air.

We bought one that has the option for an extension so you can make it higher and as a second seat. Just in case we decide to try for a second baby.

Personally I would never spend $1000 on a stroller. That’s just insane in my opinion. I’m due with our 2nd child in October and we just have a single stroller. Our plan is to keep our almost 2 year old in the stroller and one of us baby wear our new guy until he gets too heavy/our older one can handle walking around more. I don’t really have the space for a double stroller in my SUV so we’re going to try that route first.
