Question for Catholics?

Question

Why do Catholics baptize babies?
They have committed NO sin.
They are innocent. They don’t know right from wrong.
Once you grow up you start to commit sin:
Adultery, Lies, Killing, and the list goes on...
Then at the age of “accountability” when you know you have sinned. Then you should be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins right?

Our baptisms are bringing the baby into our community. The parents and God parents promise to teach the child about God and Catholicism. Its basically an introduction of the child into the church. Actually there's a line  about their purity and how the parents and God parents need to help guide them so that they can remain pure. We confirmation when he child grows up and thats when they make the choice to be Catholic for themselves. Confirmation is more important that baptism because you make a promise to follow God and the Catholic Church yourself. You're absolved of your sins and prayed for as you take your next steps into  the church community. Its smilar to adult baptism in other denominations. We have a multiple sacraments in the church, some of which other denominations did away with: Infant baptism, first communion, first reconciliation (where you confess your sins to the priest), confirmation and then marriage, last rights, funeral rights as well as those of the priesthood. Baptism is the first and it's just the first step to truly becoming a Catholic.

Catholics believe in Original Sin, and that rubberized babies don't go to heaven, they go to purgatory. Seriously, they really believe that.

We are all born sinful humans. Even babies are sinners even though they don't start committing literal sins until they're older. 
Having said that, you're right in everything else you said. Infant baptism is not a biblical teaching.
Even Jesus got baptised as an adult after he dedicated himself to doing his father's will. All those that got baptised in the bible did so after they had learnt about Jesus and made the conscious decision to dedicate their lives to doing God's will. Nowhere in the Bible does it support the doctrine and practice of infant baptism. It is 100% unscriptural and a man made addition. 
And the bible is very clear on God's thought about adding or subtracting anything from his word, the Bible.

I’m not catholic (and my parents are methodist pastors),however i took a class that discussed this in great detail. The watered down version is to protect the baby from going to Hell or Purgatory because God already knows the sins you’re GOING to commit even if you haven’t already. It’s a welcome into a faith community, and a safety net in case anything happens to the baby before it’s old enough to reaffirm it’s own faith :)
