How long before you were married to your SO?

So my boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 years now, and I am ready to move onto marriage but every time I bring it up he just changes the subject? I love him with all my heart and I think we have a very healthy relationship, but it scares me a bit that he's not even ready to talk about marriage yet😔

We'll have been together 8 years by the time we marry next year.. If he isn't ready he isn't ready.  All you can do is choose to wait for him to be ready or leave.. So you have to ask yourself where your priorities lie- In a lable and a ring, or in building a solid foundation to this marriage you want.. Then act accordingly.

We were married just before we hit 5 years, but we were engaged for just about 3 of that. We opted for a long engagement so we could finish our degrees first. 😏

We met in 2011, got engaged in 2014, and we were married in 2017. I think waiting a long time is good. Also, I really think that couples should live together before they are engaged. I think it’s difficult to truly know someone unless you live with them. Even great friendships can become strained once they start living together. We went through a lot in the years between our proposal and wedding, and we are stronger for it. We had also talked about marriage quite a bit before the engagement, and I was the one who eventually proposed. We both have a lot of family members who divorced because they either got married too soon or didn’t take marriage seriously. We agreed we will do what we can to not end up like our divorced family members. We take our marriage very seriously and as a commitment to be each other’s partner in life. Wouldn’t have it any other way 😘

My husband and I were together a little over a year when he proposed. BUT everyone’s different it took my brother 10 years to marry his SO. Im sure you won’t have to wait that long! ❤️Lol

I got married to my husband 1 year and 1 month after being together I honestly would have loved to wait a bit longer and not rush things but he's in the military and he was getting ready to move out of state and if we didn't get married at the time we did he would have left without me.

We started dating at 18 and it took 7 years for him to propose!! But girl it was worth the wait I hit the jackpot with him ❤️ some things are worth waiting for ! Now 11 years later we are 28 weeks expecting our first child in August 🙂 I’m glad we waited enough to mature and know what we really wanted in life and in each other ❤️
