Opinions pls

What are your opinions about men being ready for a child?...do y’all think they will ever be ready for a baby? I want to start trying for a child but my SO says he is not ready for a baby yet. I’m not going to force him to do anything he isn’t ready for but will he ever really be ready for a little one? We are financially stable, have a home, great relationship i don’t know what is holding him back but when I want to talk about it he won’t want to and it’s kinda starting to hurt my feelings now. I know I’m sensitive 🙄Anyway I love this man and I will wait for him but I just would like to hear your opinions on the topic or any advice that you could give me
